Fight YOUR game
After years of coaching and competing, I have noticed the best competitors always come prepared…
Not just mentally prepared but with a plan for the match.
A system.
They know how to guide the chaos of a fight and critically problem solve under duress.
The consistent top competitors build their Jiu-Jitsu games around a series of reliable principles, positions, transitions and high percentage finishing submissions
The ability to implement YOUR game to make it happen versus allowing "the fight" to happen to you will drastically improve your success.
There are countless styles, moves and opportunistic scenarios that could dictate any outcome, but it is much better to pursue YOUR plan.
Here is some insight where to apply time and effort:
Build YOUR preferred takedowns and counters
Build “go-to” recovery positions when you need time to recover… without having to fear submission attempts by having solid "self-defense" fundamentals.
Refine the nuances and details of YOUR attacks that make your game plan work in a multitude of scenarios on whatever opponent you face despite their physical attributes.
Develop a “brotherhood” submission game plan between Jiu-Jitsu attacks like D’Arce chokes to anaconda chokes to guillotines to arm triangles…
If you intend on competing let a coach know and they can help you coordinate a game plan. Competing is a great test to diagnose your skill level and show you where we stand.
We encourage students to compete, but it is not a requirement. The perspective of real-life stress is a completely different feeling once you compete.
You begin to navigate everyday life challenges with ease after you see what you can accomplish through the test of real competition. You learn to respond rather than react among many other great attributes!
